Group Wise Batch Sales
On this page
The Group Wise Batch Sales report lists every sale of one stock group in the period, bill by bill, with the batch each line was sold from. Use it to trace which batches of a product went to which customers, and when.
Open the report
Press Alt+7 for Special Reports, then Z for More Special Reports, then F. The report opens for the financial year from its first day to today. It lists nothing until you choose a Group.
Each line is one item sold on one bill, from one batch.
What it lists
One line for each item sold on a sales bill in the period, whose item belongs to the chosen group. A group holds the packings of one product, such as the 1 Ltr and 5 Ltr packs, so both packs are listed.
- Sales bills of every payment, not sales returns.
- Goods delivered and not yet billed, for the quantity not yet billed. Their Inv. no column shows the delivery’s reference. Payment or GST narrowed to a choice leaves these out.
Lines are in customer name order, then by date and bill number.
Columns
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| S.No | The number of the line. Hidden by Columns. |
| Customer | The name written on the bill. A cash bill shows the name on it, such as Cash. |
| Inv. no | The bill’s number and series, or a delivery’s reference. |
| Inv. date | The bill’s date, or a delivery’s date. |

Product, Mfg. and Expiry show only when some line has a value for them. The totals line adds up the Units.

Click a column title to sort by it, and click again to reverse. Shift+click adds a second column to the sort. Every choice is kept in the page address, so Copy link gives a link that opens the same report.

How the figures are worked out
Each item line of a sales bill dated in the period is read, if its item is in the chosen group and its bill passes Payment and GST:
- Units is the units on the line. For a delivery not yet billed, it is the units still to be billed.
- Batch, Mfg. and Expiry are the batch recorded on the line, with its dates.
- Inv. date is the bill’s date. A delivery’s is the date it was delivered.
- The totals line adds up the Units. The status line gives the number of lines and the units.
Sales returns are not in this report, so the units are only what was sold.
The status line gives the number of lines and the total units.
Find narrows the lines to one customer: Venkatesh Gowda’s four bills add up to 10 units.
Open, mark, print and export
- Enter on a line opens its bill. On a delivery not yet billed it opens the product’s Stock Ledger.
- F2 marks a line and F8 marks them all. F10 then prints only the marked lines.
- F10 prints the report with the product group, the period and your choices in its heading.
- F12 saves the printed report as an Excel workbook, with the figures as numbers.
- Alt+Enter gives the whole window to the list.
