Prepare GST e-invoice JSON in your browser
Use this free tool to prepare invoice data for e-invoice registration. Its accounts master and items master follow the reusable entry workflow of the Form D and NIC GePP utilities. There are no macros to enable, and invoice data stays on your device.
How to prepare an e-invoice JSON file
- Save your seller and buyer accounts with their GSTINs and addresses.
- Add items with the correct HSN or SAC, unit, price and GST rate.
- Enter the document number, date, supply details and invoice lines. Review the taxable value and tax totals.
- Run the local checks, correct errors, and download the invoice JSON.
- When online, submit the JSON through an authorised Invoice Registration Portal. Keep the portal's registered response with the IRN and signed QR code.
JSON preparation and invoice registration are separate steps. The official IRP guide to JSON upload and IRN generation explains the registration process.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool generate an IRN or a signed QR code?
This tool prepares the invoice JSON. To register an e-invoice and obtain its IRN and signed QR code, submit the JSON to an authorised Invoice Registration Portal while online. Downloading JSON here does not register the invoice.
Can I prepare GST e-invoice JSON without Excel?
Yes. Enter invoice details here, select saved accounts and items, review the checks, and download JSON. Excel, VBA macros and an installed desktop utility are not required. The workflow is based on the Form D and NIC GePP Excel utilities and the e-invoice schema.
How do the accounts master and items master work?
Save account details such as GSTIN and address, and item details such as description, HSN or SAC, unit and GST rate. Reuse these records when preparing invoices instead of entering the same details again.
Can I use the e-invoice JSON generator offline?
Open the tool while connected and wait for "Ready for offline use" in the header. You can then prepare invoices and download JSON in this browser, including after a reload without a connection. You still need internet access to submit JSON to an Invoice Registration Portal. Clearing site data or browser storage eviction removes offline access.
Where are my accounts, items and invoice details stored?
Records stay in local storage in this browser. The tool does not send invoice data to SimplyERP or an Invoice Registration Portal. Download backups to keep a separate copy. Clearing browser data removes saved records, and private browsing may discard them when the session ends.
Will passing the local checks guarantee that the IRP accepts my JSON?
No. Local checks help find missing fields and inconsistent values, but the IRP applies its own current validation rules and master data. Review the invoice and resolve any errors returned by the portal before treating it as registered.
