Packing Wise Stock answers “how many packs of each size do I hold?” It lists the closing stock of every item on a date, under its packing, or under its manufacturer or technical name, with the packings they carry. Use it to count shelves by pack size, to check one company’s stock, or to see all the stock of one active ingredient.

Open the report

Press Alt+5 for Stock Reports, then I. The report opens as on today, in Alphabetical order: a heading for each packing, with its products under it.

Packing Wise Stock as on 18-10-2026, in Alphabetical order: the 1 KG packing has 3 products and 154 units, the 1 LTR packing has 6 products and 183 units Each packing is a heading with the number of products and the units in stock. The totals line is under the grid.

What it lists

One line for each item that has stock above zero on the date, with its packing. A product sold in several packings has one line for each packing, because each pack size is its own item.

  • Items with no stock, or with negative stock, are left out.
  • The stock includes the date itself: bills and other movements dated the As on date are counted.
  • The quantities are in units, which is packs, as the items are counted in your books.

How the figures are worked out

Cl. stock is the stock on the date, worked out for each item as in the Stock Statement: the item’s opening stock, plus the units bought and the units customers returned, minus the units sold, the units returned to suppliers and the units written off as damage, all dated up to and including the As on date. Goods received on a challan count from the date of the entry; when the bill follows, only the quantity not already received is added.

  • A heading adds up the Cl. stock of its items, and the totals line adds up every item listed.
  • Packings are in plain character order, not number order: 1 KG, 1 LTR, 10 GM, 100 GM, 25 KG. In Alphabetical order, the items under a packing are in name order. A company’s or technical name’s items are in packing order, then name order.
  • An item without a packing is listed under (No packing), one without a manufacturer under (No manufacturer), and one without a technical name under * UNDEFINED GROUP. Headings are in character order, capitals and small letters alike, and the heading for items without a value comes first, so * UNDEFINED GROUP is at the top.
  • Click Cl. stock first to put the headings in order of their totals too.

The status line: 28 items in 14 packings, quantities in units 28 items with stock, in 14 packings.

Technical wise order: the * UNDEFINED GROUP heading with 13 items and 961 units, then ACEPHATE 75% SP with 1 item and 7 units The items with no technical name come first, then each technical name.
